La tour Eiffel

Paris was lovely. It’s so nice to have a sit down dinner, just the two of us. And we had 3 dinners in a row! (Fri,Sat and Sun). Also sleeping in for 3 days in a row is very enjoyable. Unfortunately we had lots of rain and it was cold. We went to the Musee de Quay Branly and the Musee d’ Orsay Museum and did a tour of the Opera. Wow, the opera is something you do not forget easily, what a glamour.

We did the very touristy tour with the sight seeing bus, freezing our butt off sitting on the open top floor, but it really is a good way to see the city. Sure enough we went to la tour Eiffel, I had forgotten how big it is, it’s gigantic! We didn’t want to spend an hour standing in line waiting to buy a ticket (remember: it was cold) so we didn’t go to the top. (we have to come back one day). We walked the Rue Mouffetard + surrounding streets and Le marais, the jewish neighborhood. Naturellement also the Sacre Coeur, Montmartre and the Notre Dame. Beautiful city, if you’ve never been there, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Coming home I gave the boys a little souvenir, a little key chain with the ‘eiffel toren”. Nils translates it to English as “the evil tower”.
